As stated in my previous post I recently got a job, been spending the last couple of weeks getting into the Lundalogik way of things. We are in total ten trainees that are being brought in to the company, of which there are two application consultants, including me.
The first weeks we basically sat and listened to alot about what CRM is and how we should think about it, what the company stands for, and how we should behave now that we are working there.
The second and third week was all about cases and learning how one should work with customers.
The last two weeks have been all about learning visual basic and the object model that Lundalogik has built around it for customizing their Lime Application, and also about learning C# which is used in SSIS or when creating bigger product customizations.
I can truthfully saythat it’s really fun, I loved doing the cases and creating possible solutions, I’m however not getting along with VBA yet, and the minor differences between C# and Java are frustrating (I know Java like the back of my hand, but not C#), most of the frustration being because they are so similar but still have differences that can trip you up real good.
Best thing I learned today was that ctrl + . writes the correct “using” property at the begining (similar to Java’s import), something I have been googling every damn time so far and cursing at why it dident write it automactically like eclipse does for java.
The best part of it all is that in two weeks i become the project manager for two customers, I love it.
Alot has happened since the last update.
1. I have finished the first final draft of my thesis. I am now waiting for my supervisor at the university to find a good time for me to present and be opposed.
2. Applied for a job at Lundalogik.
3. Interview’s at Lundalogik ( 3 times in Lund and once in Stockholm )
4. Got into the Trainee 2010 program at Lundalogik, as an Applications Consultant in Stockholm, for their bigger Lime CRM system.
5. I am now living in Malmö and have just attended the third day of the trainee program. It’s alot of fun but there’s so much new information and things to do that it feels like I’ve been here for alot longer than 3 days.
Lundalogik is supplying me and three other guys with an apartment, “the Man Colony”. We are in total nine people, and they are still looking for 3 more sales people (lundalogik.se).
This is the apartment we are living in.
The biggest problem for me now is finding an apartment in Solna in Stockholm, it’s not easy. Have been looking at a few different apartments but the prices are crazy. Im sure I’ll find something eventually though.
About a two weeks ago I finished my work at Haldex Traction. The project was a sub-project of my thesis, where i focused on what uses they had of CRM, giving them recommendations and suggestions for a systems that would suit their needs.
CRM Haldex Traction Report 1.0 - 447.84 KB. 89 Downloads
The company short version of relevant findings for Haldex Traction from my thesis work.
After finishing that and having presented it I have taken a couple of days to do nothing as the last weeks were basically non-stop work. Now I’m however focusing on getting the rest of the thesis finished. What I have left to do is really proof reading and editing to make sure everything is right and says what I want it to say.
It’s pretty nice to have finished my work there and it feels like I’m moving forward with this whole thing.
I just simply like this

Just received a new mini helicopter I ordered two weeks ago. It’s called “Copter MINIX Mini 3ch Metal Infrared RC Helicopter”. It’s a very small and fun dual rotor helicopter.
Here are some pictures of it.
The tail propeller is different on this chopper as it is compared to a regular heli. Instead of being on the side, keeping the helicopter from rotating around itself it is facing upwards and used to make the helicopter go forwards or backwards. This is because this helicopter has two counteracting blades so the heli does not try to rotate about itself as the helis with just one main rotorblade do. If you want to read more about that check this link out.
Have been flying it now for about an hour and it’s a really fun toy
The most surprising part about the helicopter is its small size. I knew it was small when I bought it but it’s not until you open the package you realize just how small it is.
It is really easy to fly around with too, I could fly in neat small circles after about 5 minutes of practicing. It also seems quite durable as it had a few hard landings the first couple of tries, but it still flies very well and hovers with no problems at all.
It is however a little limited in its flying capabilities (compared to a real helicopter). It can move forwards and backwards up and down and rotate side to side, but it can not go sideways. Its not that big of a problem though, it is plenty challenging to fly around the furniture in the house as it is
The battery lasts about 5-7 minutes and is recharged through the remote control (you can see the small wire you plug into the helicopter from the remote in the picture below).
The controls are: Left control makes the helicopter go up or down.
The right control make the helicopter go forwards or backwards and rotate left or right.
Simply put it’s a very stable, very small, and very fun little toy.
And when it was priced at less than 30 USD I simply coulden’t resist it.
I bought mine from here:

EDIT1:
Managed to fly into a door and break off one of the metal counterweights that used to be attached to the flybar. The part that broke off is the silver looking thing attached to the black plastic bar just below the top rotorblade visible in the picture above.
EDIT2:
Fixed it with a bit of super glue. Flies just as good as new. Let’s see if i can avoid doors in the future.
EDIT3:
The piece of metal broke off mid flight and went flying through the room. Don’t think the glue was strong enough to hold the metal to the plastic bar as it was spinning around.
To remedy this I first glued it in place in the same manner I did before, but this time i also placed a bunch of glue on a piece of paper and let it dry for a few seconds. Then I dipped my screwdriver in this and lightly touched the point of it to the bar. This caused the glue to stick to the bar and a “web” going between the bar and the screw driver. I used this web to wrap the metal weights in glue so that they were basically in a glue cocoon. Lets see them break off now…
Heres what it looks like. Did the same thing to both sides so the weight would be even and not cause the heli to shake violently when the blades spin.
Flies great again =)
Moral of the story is, if something dosent work, apply more glue.
